Unfortunately Alex Reid has had to cancel his fight against Tom Watson which was scheduled for May 15th.
His representative said:
“Alex Reid has sustained an injury during the filming of his Bravo Fight Of His Life programme. He has seen numerous doctors and specialists, all advising him to not train at the level required in the lead-up to a fight.
In light of this, Alex will unfortunately be postponing his fight on May 15 with Tom ‘Kong’ Watson. Alex will be seeing a BAMMA doctor upon his return to further assess the injury and work towards a new date. Alex is gutted to postpone the fight and is looking forward to taking on his competitor.”
It’s sounds as though Alex genuinely does have an injury and that it might only be a temporary postponement until he’s fit again.
Tom Watson seems to be a bit annoyed and had this to say on his blog,
“I am now working with Bamma and my management to bring in a top American opponent last-minute.
“I just wish I’d had more time to prepare for whoever that style may be but, hey, this is what real fighters do.”
And he added: “Enjoy your new lifestyle and fame, Mr Reid, because I’m sure it’s not only me but many other people now who categorise you as a complete joke with no class to just stand up and be a man.”
I don’t know what Tom expects of Alex, if he’s picked up an injury than that’s just unfortunate, it can’t be helped, these things happen, especially in MMA.

Why is it wrong to dislike Mr Reid ? His MMA record is W8 L8 – and that’s from just fighting local bums, he has never fought a single credible opponent.
Yet you would think from all the press coverage that he gets, that he is Anderson Silva !
Of course, the truth is that he is merely ‘famous’ for inserting his erect penis into the vagina of a ‘model’ whose breasts are filled with enormous bags of toxic chemicals.
And this message is about as likely to pass moderation as Alex Reid is to win a fight against a real fighter.
Please think before you post Vecuccio, I guess Murilo Rua, Xavier Foupa-Poukam, Jorge Rivera and Dave Menne are all local bums then?
Do some research before you embarrass yourself again.
Think you’ll find he also had a fight against Dean Amasinger which was close with Reid almost locking in a few subs in the opening round of The Ultimate Fighter 9. He’s hardly a local bum either.
The MMA record doesn’t include any of the Thai Boxing fights either.
The problem is that he lost to all of those guys…the only guys he has beaten are local bums. I could go out and get ruined by Brock Lesnar, it doesn’t give me any credibility as a mixed martial artist though…
who has reid beaten who could be considered world class?…. he is a joke…. I hope he does end up taking the fight with Kong Watson and gets beat up in the process….. I dont hear the ufc making mention of some 2 bit fighter called Reid in any event….
